Witney Law Firm Reduces Risk of Data Loss Using the CIS Cloud

With sensitive client information accessed on a daily basis JWS wanted to ensure they had a backup and disaster recovery plan in place.

John Welch & Stammers is a law firm based in Witney, Oxfordshire. Founded in 1932, the practice needed dependable access to sensitive client information and a stronger recovery plan.

The challenge

The firm’s existing servers created concerns about security, availability and recovery after an IT failure. Staff also needed a consistent set of files and access to IRIS Evolution when working away from the office.

The work

CIS moved the firm’s servers to a hosted cloud environment in a UK data centre. We made IRIS Evolution available on the CIS vBubble platform and introduced full server image backup.

The shared environment allowed staff to work from one data set across office and remote locations, reducing the inconsistencies caused by separate copies.

The result

The firm gained more flexible access to its applications and client information, supported by backup and recovery arrangements.

Since migrating to the Cloud with CIS, we’ve seen a great improvement to our productivity along with a highly secure way of working.
