CIS’s Quick Tips – Email Phishing
Email Phishing is a common method used by malicious third-parties to dupe unsuspecting email recipients into handing over logins, passwords and other valuable information via fake emails.
Malicious third-parties usually pretend to be someone else to add an element of trust and to increase the likelihood of click-throughs and email opens.
If a recipient was to open a suspect email and clicked a link or completed a form, they could be unknowingly allowing unprivileged access to private networks, or they could be supplying criminals with personal data which may be used fraudulently.
At CIS, we have decided to create a short educational video series to help spread awareness around common cyber security issues, and how to prevent them.
